3496421 - No Certificate Available when Assigning Logon Certificate

Symptom

When assigning a Logon Certificate, it shows error "No Certificate Available" although the browser setting is correct.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click the icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Click My Settings -> Manage Certificates.
  3. Click Assign Logon Certificate and see error messages.

Cause

The used client certificate does not come from a trusted certificate authority so that ByD doesn't recognize the issuer of the certificate.

Resolution

Use a valid client certificate from a trusted certificate authority. The trusted certificate authority is listed in Logon Using Client Certificate (X.509). If achieving a valid client certificate is impossible, an SAP Passport can be requested and works in this case.
