3496471 - Error "Business partner X already exists" When Trying to Create a Supplier

When trying to create a Supplier, the system shows an error message stating: "Business partner X already exists" (where X represents the Business Partner ID). Despite searching for the ID in the Suppliers View using the 'All Suppliers' option, it was not possible to find the business partner with the same ID.

SAP Business ByDesign 

1. Go to Business Partner work center.
2. Enter Suppliers View.
3. Click 'New' button and select 'Supplier'.
4. In supplier ID field provide the desired ID.
5. Fulfill the field 'Name". 
6. Click Save.
7. The error message "Business partner X already exists"  is displayed. 

The supplier ID X was created, but it was not approved. As a result, it is currently listed under the potential supplier menu. However, even though it is listed under the Potential Suppliers menu, the ID is not triggered when using the "All suppliers" selection filter in the Business Partner Work Center - Supplier View. This is because its status is different from that of active suppliers.

In the procurement process, suppliers typically progress through stages from potential to active. Supplier ID X, displaying in the potential supplier menu, indicates that it has not yet completed the necessary steps to transition into an active supplier status. It remains in a potential supplier until it is formally submitted for approval and subsequently approved. Only after these steps have been completed does X transition into a fully-fledged supplier.
