3496579 - [Onboarding] Custom Task Mail completed by Onboardee doesnt trigger completion mail

Symptom

  • Custom task email notification is not triggering after onboardee completes the task.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  • Assign custom task to Onboardee
  • Login as Onboardee and complete the custom task
  • The Custom task completion email is not sent

Cause

  • Expected Behavior

Resolution

  • The completion email will not trigger for external users because of technical limitation. It happens in the external user's context and Email service doesn't allow it, thus failing. So, we send completion emails only when responsible users complete their assigned custom tasks.
  • Mail won't send when external user completes, only when internal user does (onboardee/offboardee we don't trigger completion emails)
  • External Users require Email Framework permissions to send notifications, which we do not provide; updating logic to ensure we do not trigger completion email for Onboardee/Offboardee 
  • Currently this is expected behavior.
