Symptom
Role Based Permission reports are showing the target population of "everyone in self, EVERYONE" or "EVERYONE" instead of "everyone in self" only.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Login to SuccessFactors
- Go to Report Center
- Run an Ad hoc report
- From the results, the Target Population column is showing 'everyone in self, EVERYONE' or 'EVERYONE'
Resolution
This is an expected behavior:
- When Target Population column is showing “everyone in self, EVERYONE”
- The "Target Population" means that the selected target population should be in the groups you selected.
- “everyone in self, EVERYONE” means that the target population only includes the users themselves, i.e. the intersection set of "EVERYONE" and "self" is the target population in this case.
- When Target Population column is showing "EVERYONE"
- For the permissions which do not require target population, there is a default target group(everyone group) stored in database tables for each rule(or called role assignment) in the role, without default target group setup for rules they will be treated as corrupted rules.
- Since AYT reporting framework requires module team to supply raw SQLs to generate relative report data, it is designed that the target group name will be ‘EVERYONE’ in such situation.
