3498213 - Permission Groups assigned and target population changed on permission role after adding additional Miscellaneous Permissions

After making changes to a permission role assigning additional Miscellaneous Permission, it appears that the Permission Groups assigned and target population changed on permission role showing three different changes in the target population. 

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core

1. Login to affected system with provided access
2. Go to Manage Permission Roles 
3. Switch to Legacy permissions view --> view change history on the role the changes were made on. 
4. Check the change history for the day you made the changes
5. Scroll to the end and see the Permission Groups assigned have (for example) 3 separate "Everyone (All Employees)" with different settings for the  "Target Population" everyone in self 
6. No changes were made to these - yet if you check this in the current role - you will see (for example) it is just set to "Permission Groups assigned" = Everyone (All Employees) and Target Population = All(Employees)

This is working as designed. The three separate groups in the Target Population is due to MDF Object permission updates or updates on permissions that support Data Access Period Setting. 

In Legacy Permission Role Change History, it will log RBP changes separately with three kinds of permissions:

• RBP general permissions (No Extral Info)
• MDF Permissions with target criteria (Full or set target population restriction)
• Permissions that support data access period settings. (Full or has period restriction)

Although 3 separate changes are observed in change history, they are for the same RBP role assignment’s change logs.

Note: this is only for the legacy version of Permission Roles. However, in the Latest Permission Roles UI, we plan to make both MDF object criteria data and Data Access Period Setting into this one role assignment item to show the change history and prevent any confusion surrounding this behaviour. 

This KBA will be updated with the planned enhancement date once confirmed by the product team.
