3499300 - System Failed to Determine the Higher Level Cost Center Manager in the Shopping Cart Document

Symptom

You have created a shopping cart and submitted for approval. However system could not determine the relevant approver. 

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Home work center
  2. Go to Self Services overview
  3. Select Track Shopping carts 
  4. Select the relevant Shopping Cart
  5. Select show Approval Process section
  6. You can see that no approver found

Cause

System is unable to determine the approver because you have defined the approval rule as - Approval by Next Level Reporting Line Unit Manager. From the determination perspective, system finds the manager of requester however system cannot find the Next Level Reporting manager in the org structure. 

Resolution

As per the rule, if user contains any reporting manager, then system will determine the specific employee from org structure. If no manager maintained, system will create an unassigned business task. It needs to be manually assign to a valid employee and get it approved.
