3500640 - ESI - SSSLERR_SERVER_CERT_MISMATCH when connecting backend to CPI

Symptom

  • CPI destination stops working after an upgrade. The SSL certificate provided by SAP CPI is consistently being rejected, preventing communication between the System environment and third-party systems.
  • When creating a new RFC destination (type G) to connect a web service (backend System) to the CPI, the connection test results in a SSSLERR_SERVER_CERT_MISMATCH error.
