Symptom
Error occurs when trying to upload the Journal Entry Voucher via MS Excel Add-in
Mandatory account assigment for mapped item XX is missing: Cost Center (XX represents the item number).
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the Upload Journal Entry Voucher template with the Microsoft Excel
- Go to SAP Business ByDesign tab and click Logon
- Enter the credentials
- Click Save data to
- Error:
Mandatory account assigment for item XX is missing: Cost Center
Cause
The Account Assignment Type 'Cost Center' is maintained as mandatory for the G/L Account
Following the below steps to check the settings for account assignment type CC - Cost Center:
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.
- Go to Overview.
- Search for the activity Mandatory Account Assignments.
- Click Edit Mandatory Account Assignments for G/L Accounts.
- Select the respective Chart of Accounts.
- Filter for G/L account ABC and see that the Account Assignment Type is CC - Cost Center.
(ABC means the G/L Account number)
Resolution
There are two options to solve this error:
Option 1
Include the Cost Center for the G/L Account ABC in your template file.
Option 2
Delete the mandatory assignment for the G/L Account ABC
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.
- Go to Overview.
- Search for the activity Mandatory Account Assignments.
- Click Edit Mandatory Account Assignments for G/L Accounts.
- Select the respective Chart of Accounts.
- Filter for G/L account ABC and delete the Account Assignment Type: CC - Cost Center.
(ABC means the G/L Account number)
