3502034 - Last Digit of the Production Order Number Missing While Scanning the Bar Code

Symptom

System displays an incomplete order number where last digit is missing either while previewing the production order Or after scanning the barcode of the order number, 

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Production Control work center.
  2. Go to Production Orders view.
  3. Show All and search for the respective document ID.
  4. Select and Open required order ID.
  5. Select and choose Preview > Preview.
  6. PDF is generated.
  7. Here the last digit is missing of the production order number.
  8. For example: the barcode should show ABCD, however when scanning it, it shows as ABC instead. 

(Here ABCD and ABCD refers to Production Order ID.)

Cause

This is how the template is set up, SAP currently using 128SSCC barcode format which is visible in the form, and at the same time SAP has hidden the barcode format 128B in Business ByDesign.

(Here 128SSCC and 128B refers to Barcode Format)

Resolution

As a workaround, create the custom form with the help of the XML source and hide the format 128SSCC then unhide the format 128B already available in the XML source of standard template.
