3502288 - Error: "Inventory ABC already exists; Enter a different Inventory ID"

When trying to change and save Inventory ID ABC for Fixed Asset DEF, an error message is being raised:
"Save Failed"
"Inventory ABC already exists; Enter a different Inventory ID"

ABC means Inventory ID.
DEF means Fixed Asset ID.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Fixed Assets Work Center.
2. Go to Fixed Assets view.
3. Filter for All Fixed Assets.
4. Search for Fixed Asset DEF and select edit.
5. Go to Master Data tab.
6. Go to Individual Material sub-tab.
7. On List of Individual Materials section, we can see Inventory ID ABC.
8. Try to change Inventory ID XYZ to Inventory ID ABC and click save.
9. The following error messages will be raised:
   "Save Failed"
   "Inventory ABC already exists; Enter a different Inventory ID"

XYZ means the Inventory ID that is being changed.

Inventory ID ABC already exist for another Individual Material.

Inventory ID ABC is already assigned to an Individual Material and is possible to see that for this Individual Material, there's not any Fixed Asset assigned, that's the reason why it does not appear in frontend system.
In this case, it's not possible to use this Inventory ID to any other Individual Materials and system will not allow to change the Inventory ID.
