3502961 - Sales Org and Product Group are displayed inconsistently in Master Data Source For Material

Sales Org and Product Group are displayed inconsistently in the report Master Data Source For Material. Or rather, one sales organization should have only one product group 1 instead of all when checking the data source Master Data Source For Material.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Log in to the affected tenant.
2. Open product ID XYZ_123.
3. Go to the Sales tab, you will have the details below about the organization and product group 1.
   
   Sales organization: SO1, Product Group 1: PG1 - ABC_1
   Sales organization: SO2, Product Group 1: PG2 - ABC_2
   Sales organization: SO3, Product Group 1: PG3 - ABC_3
   
   
4. Now, navigate to the work center: Business Analytics > Design Data Sources.
5. Select the Data Source Name: Master Data Source For Material.
6. Click on the Preview button and then the Run Data Source button on the new page.
7. Fill in the field Material ID with XYZ_123.
8. Go to View, and select fields: Sales organization, Product Group 1.
9. The result is that each sales org has three product group 1 as followings, which is inconsistent with the details obtained in step 3.
   
   Sales organization: SO1, Product Group 1: PG1 - ABC_1, PG2 - ABC_2, PG3 - ABC_3
   Sales organization: SO2, Product Group 1: PG1 - ABC_1, PG2 - ABC_2, PG3 - ABC_3
   Sales organization: SO3, Product Group 1: PG1 - ABC_1, PG2 - ABC_2, PG3 - ABC_3
   
   

This is a known limitation of data source "Master Data Source For Material" [PDM_MAT]. The system behaviour results from the modelling of the data source. As this data source works this way and it is publicly released for already several years, it not likely to be changed to avoid incompatibilities. We admit that the current behaviour is not optimal, but any change of the data source could lead to incompatible changes affecting other users of this data source. At this time, we do not have a workaround or immediate solution to offer. If the feature/functionality is needed as a matter of urgency, please refer to KBA 3475641 - Functionality Currently not Available.
