3503224 - Safety Stock in Product Planning Details Differs From The Value in Material Master

You have maintained a Safety Stock of 0 ea for a Material, but when you go to Supply Planning you can see there is a Safety Stock Demand with a value greater than zero.

SAP Business ByDesign 

1. Navigate to the Supply Planning work center. 
2. Go to the Products view. 
3. Find and select the relevant Product ID.
4. Click Open to open the Product Planning Details.
5. You can see that the Safety Stock says: 0 ea. However, you can also see there is a Demand of 123 ea (123 represent the Demand Quantity) which as can be seen on the Supply and Demand List, is for the Safety Stock. And if you perform "Run planning - Single BOM level", the system is creating Planning Proposal against this Demand.
6. If you open the Material Master, you can see the Safety Stock maintained is also 0 ea. 
7. If you go to the Changes log of the Material Master, there is also no change in Safety Stock Quantity visible that could have triggered the Safety Stock Demand of 123 ea.

Root cause cannot be established as we have not been able to replicate the scenario.

We kindly request you to try to do a dummy change in Product Master and the planning should be updated accordingly.

Please proceed as follows:

1. Navigate to the Product and Service Portfolio work center. 
2. Go to the Products view. 
3. Find and select the relevant Product ID.
4. Click Edit and then View All.
5. Go to the Planning tab.
6. Select the relevant Planning Area and set a value for Safety Stock, Save it, and then set it back to zero again.
7. Save.
