3503338 - JDBC Channel Communication issue after JDBC Driver upgrade

Symptom

  • JDBC communication channel fails after upgrade to Microsoft JDBC Driver 12.4 for SQL Server.
  • While connecting to SQL Databases it shows the below error:
    Cannot establish connection with the registered driver. com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver returns: "encrypt" property is set to "true" and "trustServerCertificate" property is set to "false" but the driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption: Error: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target.
