3504746 - Smoke Test Plan Failed After the Cloud Upgrade Process

• Smoke test plans created by SAP is failing to progress after certain steps in the test plan.
• After the cloud upgrade, smoke test plans are not progressing in the application steps.
• Smoke test plan execution failed at certain percentage.
• Smoke test phase appears as failed in the Post Upgrade Tests - PUT Dashboard app.

Smoke tests are usually created solely as a warm up for the system and to check if the logs are posted successfully. Before the post-upgrade test plans get executed, pre-checks for the upgrade-relevant test processes are run in the background. After the pre-checks are complete, the smoke tests and start-up test plans are triggered. The post upgrade test plans are executed only when the smoke tests and start-up test plans are complete.

Any errors during the smoke test phase can be Ignored, as long as the execution passes more than 0%. It indicates the warm up has been completed and the real PUT processes should be correctly triggered.

To check the progress of the smoke test plans:

1. Access the Test Your Processes app.
2. Search for test plans with prefix "SMOKE".
3. Check the progress of the test plans.

In case the smoke tests plans show no progress - remaining at 0% -, report a case to SAP Support.
