3505978 - Error Message: 'Enter a Value that Matches the Unit PQR and has a Maximum of 0 Decimal Place(s)' While posting New Bank to Bank Transfer

Symptom

Error shown while creating a new bank to bank transfer.

Error Message: Enter a value that matches the unit PQR and has a maximum of 0 decimal place(s)' 

(Here PQR refers Country Currency)

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Liquidity Management work center.
  2. Under Common Tasks, click to create a new Bank to Bank Transfer.
  3. Fill in the required information and click Preview. 

The following errors are raised:

 Enter a value that matches the unit PQR and has a maximum of 0 decimal place(s)' 

 

Cause

This restriction of the decimal places comes from ISO 4217 which is standard for the rounding and available decimal for each currency maintained.

You can check the settings in the below steps:

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
  2. Select Implementations Projects view.
  3. Select the First Implementation and select Open Activity List button.
  4. Go to Fine Tune tab.
  5. Search and open the Activity Currencies.
  6. Search for Currency JPY, Display Decimal is 00.

Resolution

The Currency Code and Display Decimal are set as per the standard official ISO 4217. Please refer to the following link for further information: Codes for the representation of currencies

Since it is ISO standards, it is not allowed to change in the fine tuning activity.

You need to post the bank to bank transfer without any decimal data in the Transaction amount field.
