3506053 - Fiori Apps are not opening from the launchpad: Error 'TypeError: sap/ui/fl/apply/_internal/preprocessors/ControllerExtension; extension provider ignored

Symptom

  • Sometimes Fiori application loads and sometimes it does not load and fails on completely loading
  • When the Fiori application fails loading, the following error messages is seen tied to the libraries then once these libraries fail then Fiori Launchpad does not completely load:
    • Controller Extension Provider: Error 'TypeError: e.getComponentById is not a function' thrown in sap/ui/fl/apply/_internal/preprocessors/ControllerExtension; extension provider ignored
  •  Tried the following without success:
    1. Invalidating client and global caches
    2. Calculating app index
    3. Clearing browser cache
    4. Delete cache after import
    5. SMICM cache cleared
    6. Load metadata via Maintain services
