Symptom
When trying to use a default dictionary to translate a product, the data received is not correct.
Environment
SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a product using the US default dictionary
- Click on "translate this item"
- Select any language you desire to create a translation for this same item (Portuguese - Brazil in this example)
- Go to quote level > Generate Documents
- Generate a document using the language translated (with proper tag for translation)
- The product is translated properly in the document file
- Go to user page and change the default dictionary to another language (Italian in this example)
- Go to quote level > Generate Documents
- Generate a document using the US English dictionary
- The product is not translated properly to English.
Cause
Default dictionary is not a translation, but original data given to product.
Resolution
Use a different dictionary instead of default dictionary for translations, for example, if you're using the US English as default dictionary and you want to generate a document in English using a product with different language than English, the translated product should be made in another English dictionary, English - United States for example.
