3507031 - Parent/Child structure inconsistencies with container

Symptom

  • In some structures, the container row shows as an ordinary product and not aligned
  • When container attribute does not have a product, it will not be shown on quote.

Environment

SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

There are two scenarios where containers behaves differently:

  1. Child product not shown as line item
    1. Have a product defined as "Parent/Child System (List)" (product A)
    2. Have a child product (product B) defined inside a container and add it to the product A
    3. Add product A to quote
    4. Product B will not be shown as a line item, but as a regular product
    5. The same happens if structure is in more levels, meaning the grand parent is defined as "Parent/Child System (List)"
  2. Container attribute not shown as product
    1. Create a container attribute
    2. Have the container attribute inside a product
    3. Add product to quote
    4. Container rows will not be present in quote if they do not use products.

Cause

Expected behavior.

Resolution

These are limitations for container model:

  1. If a parent is defined as "Parent/Child System (List)" it will show as a product, not as ordinary line item
  2. A container attribute that does not have a product linked to it will not show up as line item when the attribute is marked as such.
