Symptom

  • During a system update/upgrade with Software Update Manager (SUM) version 2.0 SP20,  the following error will be reported in phase MAIN_INIT/JOB_RSVBCHCK2:

*** FATAL: Got signal 'SIGABRT' (22)! Please contact SAP support!
ERROR: Missing opening bracket ( for macro call '21'
EXEC> Process with PID 532 terminated with status 5 at ...

or 

  • You are getting an error popup in SUM UI with the following message
