Symptom
- Error received when creating a job requisition from position.
- Details: Field criteria validation failed due to incorrect values of location_obj/location_objlist. Enter valid data, or change Job Start Date.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Position Org Chart
- Select a Position
- Click Actions > Create Job Requisition
- Click Create
- Receive the error
Cause
- The location value retrieved is invalid as of the Job Start Date.
- The location object field is defined as a child object of another object field in the Job Requisition template. However, there is no field mapping configured to populate the parent object field, or the values retrieved for the two cascading objects are not in parent-child relationship.
Resolution
The location value retrieved is invalid as of the Job Start Date
To troubleshoot the issue, it is recommended to create a rule trace using the Business Rule Execution Log tool.
To create a job requisition from a future dated Position, refer to KBA 3033829 to configure the Job Start Date and the business rule.
Typically, the Job Start Date is mapped to the Position Start Date. If the location value retrieved is invalid as of the Position Start Date, the error will still occur. Please review the effective start date of the location value.
The location object field is defined as a child object of another object in the Job Requisition template
Please review the Field Criteria Definition in Job Requisition.
If the two objects are cascading, a field mapping should be in place to populate the value for the parent object before setting the child object.
If the parent object field is blank, it is not possible to set the child object. The values must also be in a parent-child relationship.
