3507900 - Performance issues in BI during high load after enabling SSL encryption between Oracle HTTP Server and Weblogic Server

Symptom

  • Significant performance issues are seen during high load / load testing after enabling SSL encryption between Oracle HTTP Server and WebLogic Server
  • In the HAR traces, it can be seen that very simple requests for javascript (.js) and css files are taking 1-20 seconds despite being only KBs in size, eg:
      00:00:03.277        5            1.174    2815    1461    GET    200    javascript    https://<HOST</BOE/portal/2107221442/FioriBI/com/sap/fioribi/utils/ResourceBundleUtil.js
  • In the BILP Web application logs, the same file ResourceBundleUtil.js can be seen taking less than 100ms to load
