3508741 - Errors with Transport Requests and Export Customizing Transports app after 2408 upgrade

• Unable to create new transport request while saving entries in the configuration activity because of the error 'Create task for transport XYZ with Export Customizing Transport app'
• Error 'Create task for transport XYZ with Export Customizing Transport app' in app Export Customizing Transports while creating the new TR
• Error 'Use transport XYZ. Only 1 transport is allowed.' obtained while trying to maintain a task in transport request using Export Customizing Transports app.
• User unable to create new transport requests after 2408 upgrade.
• New configuration changes are getting saved by default in old transport request.
• User is unable to suspend the automation in the Import Collection app using "Import Automation Settings" because the "Suspend" checkbox is not available.

1. Click 'Save' in configuration activity after any change (Ex: Maintain Inspection Types)
2. Click on 'New transport request' and 'Save'

After the 2408 Upgrade, there's a new functionality in S/4HANA Cloud: The Transport Mode. The mode has an impact on the business configuration transports at creation and export and on the import and forward options of all transport types.

There are two "Transport Modes": The Simple one and the Flexible one. 

• Simple Transport Mode: This mode offers a basic functionality for transporting and reduces the possibility to end up in complex transport dependencies for business configuration transports.

• Flexible Transport Mode: This mode offers the full flexibility of transports. It offers the possibility to create multiple business configuration transports in parallel, which could result in a dependency network across multiple transports.

For new customers, “Simple Transport Mode” is activated by default, and it can be switched between the Flexible or Simple Transport Modes based on the requirements.

For upgraded customers, “Flexible Transport mode” is activated by default, and it can be switched between the Flexible or Simple Transport Modes based on the requirements.

However, this issue occurs when Flexible Transport Mode is turned off in the system.

Note : Customer who do not have any imported/exported transports were considered as new customers.

To resolve the issue, it is necessary to turn OFF Simple Transport Mode and activate Flexible Transport Mode. These settings can be configured in the Extensibility Settings app of the Development System, and the activation will apply across the entire landscape.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to the 'Extensibility Settings' app.
2. Turn ON the 'Flexible Transport Mode'.

Once activated, proceed with development as usual, and the issue will be resolved.

Note: Key User Extensibility is only available in the Test/Quality System in 2-System Landscapes or in the Development System - Customizing Tenant in 3-System Landscapes. Ensure that the correct tenant is being used.
