3508940 - "Receive into Plant (0001)" not being the default follow-up activity in the "Manage Customer Return - Version 2" app since 2408

Symptom

Before 2408, the "follow-up activity" field used to be filled in with default value "Receive into Plant (0001)" in the returns order created via the "Manage Customer Return - Version 2" app. However, after 2408, the "follow-up activity" field is not defaulted with any value if no configuration is done in the configuration activity "Define Default Values for Customer Returns (ID: 106585)".

Resolution

With regard to why the "follow-up activity" field is not filled in with "Receive into Plant (0001)" by default in the "Manage Customer Returns - Version 2" app since 2408, it is due to an improvement of the "Manage Customer Return - Version 2" app since 2408. In the past, the "Manage Customer Returns - Version 2" app was using the same background logic with the "Manage Customer Returns" app, that is, "Receive into Plant (0001)" is always filled in by default. However, this may cause problems when "Receive into Plant (0001)" is not what the user wants.

Given that the "Manage Customer Returns - Version 2" app is the mainstream today and is improved continuously, since 2408, the product and development team removed "Receive into Plant (0001)" as the default value and developed a new background logic. It is now left to the user to decide which default follow-up activity to use, by configuring in the configuration activity "Define Default Values for Customer Returns (ID: 106585)".
