3509087 - In a calendar task dimensions that are passed to the report are not recognized and reports refresh without showing data

After the 2024 QRC3 quarterly release dimension members are not passed correctly to stories when opened from calendar tasks. The dimensions that are passed to the report are not recognized and reports refresh without showing data.

SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.15.5

• Select an existing general task in the calendar that contains a workbook and dimensions defined in the context
• Open the workbook. Some or all of the dimensions are not passed correctly to the workbook.
• After opening the report via the workflow we can see that some of the dimensions are with value (No Value) and thus not recognized.
• In some cases values are passed, but not recognized by the filter.

An enhancement was added to the QRC3 release to support additional hierarchies in some dimensions.

An unexpected side-effect of this change causes dimensions with no hierarchies to be incorrectly passed and not recognized.

The incorrectly formed URL that passes the dimensions to the story results in multiple dimensions being incorrectly parsed even if they do contain a valid hierarchy if there is at least one problematic dimension.

Since the Version dimension is passed in almost all cases and does not contain a hierarchy the likelyhood that the URL may be incorrectly formed is high.

The client side patch 2024.15.6 has been installed to resolve this issue for any newly created calendar tasks.

It is important to note that this patch will not convert existing tasks to resolve the issue. For any existing task, it is necessary to remove the filters from the context section and re-add them. This will update the filter context with the correct structure to pass the dimension members successfully. 

The issue with existing tasks will be resolved when the 2024.15.7 patch is released.
