3509747 - Connection to SAP MaxDB/liveCache fails with "cannot connect to server socket" - NetWeaver

Symptom

Error during the remote connection setup with solman_setup for Enter System Parameters:

  • DBA cockpit connection <SID> cannot be established:
    • SQL not possible
    • SQL-Code: 10709

         

      DBSL Library Availability    
      Client Software Availability   
      Execute an external operating system command (DBMCLI)    
      dbmcli_neg: dbmcli_command_execute_error   
      ...
      Function            : DBM_EXECUTE   
      Command             : db_state  
      Error               : DBM Error    
      Return Code         :         -4    
      Error Message       : cannot connect to server socket   
      Determine status using TCP/IP connection SAPDB_DBM_DAEMON (DBMRFC session mode)   
      DB59: Test Connection takes long time and fails with below error finally:

DB59 connection test takes long time and finally fails with the same error.
