3509838 - EWM Physical Inventory process is possible even Deletion Flag is set for material master data - SAP S/4HANA Cloud

The Deletion Flag is set for material master data at general level and plant level at APP Manage Product Master Data, but it is still possible to create physical inventory document, count, post physical inventory document, post the difference. Phyical inventory process is not prevent due to the deletion flag.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Set deletion flag for the material master data at general information tab and plant tab, keep the Warehouse Data at APP Manage Product Master Data.
2. Create physical inventory document, count and post the PI document.
3. The stock is changed at EWM side, post the difference to IM. No error message occurs.

The deletion flag at masterial master data is marked for later archiving run, it is set when decison is made that this material has reached its end of life.

The flag can be set at any time even there is stock exist at EWM. The existing stock will prevent the archiving run later.

The deletion flag doesn't have any impact to EWM and it also doesn't check for any existingIM stocks. So it is possible to do physical inventory for the material with deletion flag.

To prevent the physical inventory for EWM, Warehouse data can be removed.
