3509960 - Data in story could not load successfully after setting the variable once in an Optimized Design Experience mode story in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • Create a story based on live data connection to S/4HANA system
  • Table data would not load after opening the story and setting the variable
  • Table data could load successfully after resetting the story variable once more time

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.15.5

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log onto SAC
  2. Create an optimized story based on the live data connection to S/4HANA system
  3. Add a table into this story and save this story
  4. Open this story again
  5. On the following variable panel, click on Set button directly
  6. Go back to the story
    => Observe that no data would appear on this table
  7. Click on the variable button below the table title to open the variable panel once more time
  8. On the following variable panel, observe that it has been chosen as "Use Story Variables"
  9. Click on the Set button on this variable panel once more time
    => Observe that data on this table would load successfully

Cause

The occurrence of this issue is due to the lack of notes implemented in backend system.

Resolution

  • Use the note analyzer based on "KBA 2541557 - SAP Analytics Cloud with BW live connection - How to keep the BW system in sync with SAC - Which BW support package is recommended?" to check the missing notes.
  • Implement these missing notes on backend system.
