3510185 - Getting the message "The operation cannot be executed in this client" while trying to change a service in SMICM

The following message / popup is received while trying to change any property of an ICM service (port) at the transaction SMICM:

The operation cannot be executed in this client.

Diagnosis

Certain technical administration functions (ICM Restart for example) can only be executed in administration clients. They cannot be executed in other clients.

Procedure

Switch over to the administration client or contact your system administrator.
