3510193 - Error message 'Copy Failed - Unknown' when copying an Enterprise Project

Error message 'Copy Failed - Unknown' is displayed while trying to copy any project in app 'Project Control - Enterprise Projects'.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open app 'Project Control - Enterprise Projects';
2. Select any of the available projects and click on Copy;
3. Fill the mandatory fields (Project Name, ID and either the Planned Start or Planned Finish);
4. When clicking on Copy, the error message 'Copy Failed - Unknown' will be displayed, preventing the user from proceeding with the project copying.

A possible cause for this issue is that a BAdI for project validation is implemented in the system, named /S4PPM/PROJECT_VALIDATION, establishing criterias for values of the project header (for example, a validation of the project name or duration).

If these parameters are not met during the project copying, the BAdI won't allow the feature to be completed. The same can happen during the creation of a new project.

In order to be able to complete the project copying, it is necessary to met the criterias configured in the BAdI.
