3511112 - Automatic Depreciation Runs for A Closed Company

The company AAA is already closed but there is depreciation runs with description as 'Recalculation after configuration change company XYZ' generated by system automatically. No postings were done with this depreciation run.

However, there is no automatic depreciation runs for company BBB which is also a closed company.

(AAA and BBB represents different company IDs.)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center
2. Go to the Periodic Tasks view and click Depreciation subview.
3. See that there are depreciation runs created for a closed company AAA.
4. The run has description like 'Recalculation after configuration change company XXX and XX at DDMMYYYY'
5. Also the run is created by Technical User (SAP_SYSTEM).
6. However, no automatic depreciation runs for company BBB.

The system behaves in this manner whenever any changes occur in Business Configuration which can directly or indirectly affect the fixed asset or depreciation of the fixed asset. For example, changes in activity Other Fiscal Year.

For company AAA, although the company is closed, there are capitalized fixed assets belong to this company. Therefore, system will create runs as designed.

For company BBB, no runs are created because there is no fixed assets belongs to it or all the fixed assets are already retired.

This is an expected system behavior. No action is necessary from your side.
