Symptom
Different ‘Requirement Type’ in quotation and sales order caused different lot size in production costing.
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
1. When creating quotation or sales order, check the ‘RqTy’ values are different in ‘Procurement’ tab.
2. Via Menu-->Extras-->Costing-->Production Costing, confirm different ‘Costing Lot Size’ are used.
Cause
Requirement Type '041' is used with an initial account assignment category, indicating that materials are taken from stock, hence the lot size isn't passed from the top material.
Requirement Type 'S45' is used with a special account assignment category, indicating that materials are produced specifically for the order, hence the lot size is passed from the top material.
Resolution
Use the same requirement type for both quotation and sales order if the same lot size is expected.
