3511370 - "HTTP Status 500 - Internal Server Error" when attempting to access the Posting URL copied from the Job Requisition Job Postings page - Recruiting

Symptom

  • "HTTP Status 500 - Internal Server Error" occurred when attempting to access the Posting URL copied from the Job Postings page of the Job Requisition.
  • The copied Posing URL is in the following pattern: "https://{Site URL}/job/{Job Title}/1234-en_US/".

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Marketing

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Recruiting > Job Requisitions
  2. Open a job requisition
  3. Go to the Job Postings tab
  4. Copy the Posting URL
  5. Enter the URL in another window
  6. An error is displayed "HTTP Status 500 - Internal Server Error"

Cause

The language-specific posting URL feature is present in this instance, but the Unified Data Model (UDM) feature is not enabled in Career Site Builder (CSB).

This inconsistency may occur after an Instance Refresh or after re-connecting the BizX instance with another RMK site.

When the Unified Data Model (UDM) feature is enabled, a new column "Languages" is displayed on the Job postings page, allowing users to copy the language-specific posting URLs. The pattern of the Posting URL is also changed:

  • When UDM is disabled: https://{Site URL}/job-invite/1234/
  • When UDM is enabled: https://{Site URL}/job/{Job Title}/1234-en_US/

Resolution

There are two possible solutions.

a. If the Unified Data Model feature should be ENABLED in the instance:

  1. Go to CSB > Settings > Site Configuration
  2. Enable 'Use Unified Data Model'
  3. Save the setting

The Posting URL of the pattern "https://{Site URL}/job/{Job Title}/1234-en_US/" will become accessible once the Unified Data Model feature is enabled.

Before enabling the Use Unified Data Model, make sure to prepare the Recruiting data as described in Preparing Recruiting Data for the Career Site Builder Unified Data Model.

b. If the Unified Data Model feature should be DISABLED in the instance:

  1. Go to CSB > Settings > Site Configuration
  2. Enable 'Use Unified Data Model'
  3. Save the setting
  4. Disable 'Use Unified Data Model'
  5. Save the setting again

After refreshing the setting, the Languages column will be removed from the Job Postings page. It is now possible to obtain the Posting URL of the pattern "https://{Site URL}/job-invite/1234/".
