3512668 - Error message "A measure does not exist anymore" in SAC Excel Add-In after a measure is deleted in Datasphere (DS)

Symptom

Error message "A measure does not exist anymore. It must have been changed or deleted" is coming up in SAC Excel Add-In when refreshing a workbook after deleting a measure in Datasphere (DS), as per screen shot below:

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental".

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open SAC Excel Add-In and log into the required tenant
  2. Click on Add Table -> SAP Datasphere -> Select the required connection
  3. Open the affected model
  4. Perform the required changes in Rows and/or Columns
  5. Go to DS and delete any other measure which is not being used
  6. Redeploy the Analytic Model in DS
  7. Go back to SAC Excel Add-In -> Refresh All -> Error will happen

Cause

Expected behavior.

Resolution

This is the expected behavior for the Excel Add-in and the tool is working as designed. It is expected that a deletion of a measure of the Analytic model will not be synced with a table that has been added to an SAC Excel Add-In workbook. The table will have to be removed and added again to the workbook to work with the updated Analytic Model.
