3513191 - Data Retention Management Job Performance Best Practices - Recruiting Management

Symptom

  • What's the best practice when handling with high number of Recruiting records being anonymized;
  • What should I do if my DRM/DRTM anonymization job is pending for a long time?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Resolution

When running DRM/DRTM anonymization jobs in your system, it's important to know that the more Recruiting records you have in the job, the longer the job will take to complete, however, it's not possible to predict how much data the job will anonymize or how long it will take to complete because each system has its own settings, information requested from the Candidates, attachment files, and other factors.

To determine how much time the system will need to anonymize all records, it's recommended to start with a small batch of records and run the anonymization first. For example, try 500~1000 records and see how long it takes, then gradually increase the number of records. You can create small batch jobs by changing the DRM/DRTM rules and running it once.

This approach is highly recommended if you’re implementing DRM/DRTM in a live system or if the system has been refreshed and all Recruiting data has been copied to the target instance.

NOTE:

  • Product Support cannot stop pending jobs, specially if there's a high number of records on the job. Product Support can only intervene if there's evidence that the job won't be completed based on the number of records included in the job.
  • If you already have a DRM/DRTM job running and you see few errors as part of the results, that doesn't mean that all records in the job failed. When a job runs for long periods, the job becomes susceptible to timeout errors but not all, or even none, records will be impacted. In such case, after the job is fully executed, you can run the job once again and the missed records will be included on the next execution.
