Symptom
Work order expiry notification alert for Contingent Worker is not created via Add Contingent Worker when the "Enable Centralized Services to Add Contingent Worker" switch is enabled, whereas the alert is triggered when the switch is disabled.
Note: The above scenario is only applicable when the alert recipients are set up as CC roles in a workflow configuration. The alert rule is configured in the Work Order MDF object as explained in the SAP Community Post: How to configure an “Expiration Alert” within an MDF Object and apply it retrospectively.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Contingent Workforce Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Add a contingent worker via Add contingent worker directly in EC with the "Enable Centralized Services to Add Contingent Worker" switch enabled.
- No alert notification is triggered.
- Add a contingent worker via Add contingent worker directly in EC with the "Enable Centralized Services to Add Contingent Worker" switch disabled.
- Alert notification is triggered.
Cause
This issue is planned to be fixed via an enhancement (ECT-241341) in 2H 2024 release.
Resolution
The best practice to trigger Work Order expiration alerts for contingent workers is via an off-cycle batch.
However, once the enhancement is deployed, engineering team has confirmed that the alerts will be triggered if they are configured via an alert rule (in the Work Order MDF object) even after Centralized Services for Add Contingent Worker becomes universal in 2H 2024 release.
