3513605 - The Hierarchy Description Cannot Exceed 50 Characters After CE2408 - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

The hierarchy description cannot exceed 50 characters after CE2408 in the Manage Global Hierarchies app.

1. Open "Manage Global Hierarchies" app.

2. The hierarchy description field restricts input to no more than 50 characters.

The issue is due to a generic enhancement for Global Hierarchies.  The hierarchy description field restricts input to no more than 50 characters due to the limitation of the analytic app supporting only 50 characters. 
Before CE2408, the hierarchy description could contain up to 128 characters. After activation, the maximum length of the hierarchy description is 50 characters. As a result, when hierarchy data is consumed, any description longer than 50 characters will be truncated. 
With the CE2408 update, the hierarchy description input restricts entries to no more than 50 characters, aligning with the 50-character limit imposed by the analytics app.

Shorten hierarchy description and activate it again following the below step:

1. In hierarchy object page with edit mode, click the tab Hierarchy.
2. Update the input field Hierarchy Description, then activate or save it.

Caution: When trying to edit and activate an existing hierarchy with a description  exceeding 50 characters, an error message stating 'The hierarchy description cannot exceed 50 characters' is displayed. After the CE2408.02 release (scheduled for delivery by October 19th/20th ), existing hierarchies created before CE2408 will no longer be restricted. Until then, if this error is encountered, the description should be manually updated.
