How to deactivate Withholding Type and Code in S/4HANA Public Cloud System.

Enter the following SSCUIs / Configuration Activities:

1. Assign Withholding Tax Types to Company Codes (SSCUI 103914)
2. Define Withholding Tax Type for Payment Posting (SSCUI 104226)
3. Define Withholding Tax Type for Invoice Posting (SSCUI 104225)
4. Define Withholding Tax Codes (SSCUI 104227)

Deactivate Withholding Tax Type:

It is not possible to deactive tax types in SSCUIs 104226 and 104225. You can limit the use of Tax Type in SSCUI 103914 "Assign Withholding tax Types to Company code", where you can enter the 'To date' as the 'End date' of use of Tax Types. 

Deactivate Withholding Tax Code:

It is not possible to deactivate tax code in SSCUI 104227. Follow the below workarounds:

• Remove the GL Account assignment to that tax code to ensure that at least no posting is made in the tax code. Or
• Change the description of the tax code as "DO NOT USE" to make user clearer that the code cannot be used anymore.
