When entering product number contains only of figures in APP MM01/Create Material to create product, below error occurs:

In the case of external number assignment, this indicator "external no. assignment w/o check " tells the system not to check the material number entered on the screen against the number range. In this case, the material number assigned must contain at least one letter, and not consist only of figures.

If it is required to create material without external number assignment validation check, an external number range can be defined for the material type which is alphanumeric(must contain at least one letter).
