3515064 - Incompatibility of EDI Syntax Version 1 with TPM in SAP Integration Suite

Symptom

  • Inbound messages with EDI Syntax version 1 are not supported by Trading Partner Management (TPM) in SAP Integration Suite.
  • The same messages are successfully processed with an EDI to XML converter outside TPM.
  • Error message below can be seen:
    • Error message: Failed to process the message with Splitter Validation 
      <InterchangeError>
          <Error>
            ...
            <ErrorCode>2</ErrorCode>
            <ErrorText>Notification that the syntax version and/or level is not supported by the recipient.</ErrorText>
          </Error>
