3515248 - FAQ about scope item 3AF and Group Chart of account

Symptom

The group chart of accounts is needed for external consolidation and reporting for your group. The group chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts that are used by the entire corporate group. This allows you to provide reports at the entire corporate group level.

For such demand, you need to activate scope item 3AF.

This scope item 3AF doesn't relate to group reporting. It's used if you don't use group reporting but use external consolidation tool like BPC. And after the scope item is activated, whenever you create a new G/L account, you also need to assign the group account for it.

Group chart of accounts is not needed by S4HANA group reporting(consolidation) anymore. If you want to use 1SG for consolidation, group chart of accounts is not needed.

For S/4HAN Cloud system, Scope item 3AF is deprecated from 2408 version.
