Symptom
The user can revert a change in Personalization that was made using Adaptation, and bring a button set as hide (in adapt), as visible again.
Environment
Reproducing the Issue
As an Admin, login in the system:
- Go to the affected screen.
- Start the Adaptation Mode.
- Select the layout that the user is using.
- Hide the button desired, e.g. "More" .
As the user affected:
- Go to the affected screen (same as configured as admin).
- It is possible to see that the button is not appearing, e.g. "More".
- Start the Personalization Mode.
- Bring the button back to visible.
The user can use the button without issues.
Cause
Users will be able to set the button to visible via personalization mode if there is any function under the more button set to visible for them in the page layout. If end users should not be able to make the more button visible at all, then all the functions below the button group have to be set to not visible in the respective page layout.
Resolution
As an Admin, login in the system:
- Go to the affected screen.
- Start the Adaptation Mode.
- Select the layout that the user is using.
- Go to the button options.
- Expand the view of "Menu".
- Disable the visibility of all buttons inside this menu.
The user will not be able to see the main button in the Personalization after performing this configuration. So it won't be possible to bring the button back as visible.
