3515858 - Modification of Business Address field in Contacts

Symptom

Business Address field in Contacts cannot be modified

SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Navigation Menu
  2. Go to Contacts
  3. Open any Contact
  4. Expand the left panel
  5. Go to Business Address field
  6. Observation: This field cannot be modified

Resolution

Scenario 1: Business Address under the Header

One Contact can be related to more than one Account. The business Address field in the header can be fetched from the Addresses of the Main Account. 

If the Contact's address needs to be changed from main account's address A to main account's address B(A and B refers to the address maintained for the main account), please follow the steps below. 

  1. Contact your admin user to add another editable "Business Address" field under Address section 
  2. Click this field's drop-down list 
  3. This list fetches all the address maintained in the main account 
  4. Select the address B 

If this address needs to be updated via data import tool, please use the field "Organization Address Technical ID" in the exported contact header template.

If the Contact's address A needs to be edited(ex. change house number in the address A), this can be done by editing the relevant address within the Account.

Scenario 2: Address under Related Accounts section 

For addresses associated with non-main accounts, it fetches the main addresses of these non-main accounts. Therefore, they cannot be changed. This is in the backlog for future support.
