Is it possible to restrict the material master data based on company?

This is standard system behavior. It is impossible to restrict the material master data based on company level in most cases. When edit the access restriction of material view under work center like Product Development or Product Data, the access context is NONE - <None>, which means that the read access cannot be restricted and the write access can be only set as No Access or Unrestricted.

This is only possible for the financial aspects. In the work center Inventory Valuation or Audit, Company based restrictions can be applied for material.
