3516492 - Story Page Number not displaying the Page Description on a Story based on the Model: SAC_PERFORMANCE_E2E, in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • Table show the Page Number, but not it's description.
  • Despite the Dimension: Page Number, is formatted to display the ID and Description, it only display the Page Number.
  • When inserting the Dimension: Story Page, on a Table based on the SAP Analytics Cloud Model: SAC_PERFORMANCE_E2E, and formatting the Story Page to display the ID and Description, it shows the Page Number only, and not the description, like:  Page 1 Page 1

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.15.6

Reproducing the Issue

  1.  In SAP Analytics Cloud, create a Story with multiple Pages, and rename each Page with a Description like:
    • Page 1  -  My First Page
    • Page 2   - My Second Page
    • Page 3   - My Third Page 
         
  2. Create a new Story, and add a Table widget based on the Model: SAC_PERFORMANCE_E2E
      
  3. Add the following Dimensions to the Table:
    • Story
    • Story Page
    • Widgets         
        
  4. Format the Story Page Dimension to display the ID and Description.
      
  5. Add a Filter to return the specific Story created in step 1.
      
  6. Notice the Story Page column on the Table displays like:
    • Page 1 Page 1
    • Page 2 Page 2
    • Page 3 Page 3
        
  7. Despite the expectation is to see the Page Number, and it’s Description like:
    • Page 1  -  My First Page
    • Page 2   - My Second Page
    • Page 3   - My Third Page 

Cause

  • By design, the Model: SAC_PERFORMANCE_E2E, does not store the Story Page Number description. It only shows the Page Numbers.

Resolution

  • This is by design, and there is no workaround.
