3516936 - Margin per Unit and Margin in Percent calculated from different measures

Symptom

When checking report from "Product Profitability with Production Variances" app, the 'Margin per Unit' and 'Margin in Percent' are calculated from different measures.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

System design.

Resolution

The 'Margin per Unit' and 'Margin in Percent' measures are calculated by a formula based on different measures (shown in the table above) after the line level aggregation is completed:

Contrib Margin I = BilledRevenueAmtInGlobCrcy + SalesDeductionAmountInGlobCrcy + RevenueAdjustAmtInGlobCrcy + (CostOfGoodsSoldAmtInGlobCrcy - FxdCOGSAmtInGlobCrcy)

Contrib Margin II = BilledRevenueAmtInGlobCrcy + SalesDeductionAmountInGlobCrcy + RevenueAdjustAmtInGlobCrcy + (CostOfGoodsSoldAmtInGlobCrcy - FxdCOGSAmtInGlobCrcy) + FxdCOGSAmtInGlobCrcy + PriceDifferenceAmtInGlobCrcy

Note: Contribution margin II is used to calculate margin in percent. Direct costs (the variable and fixed costs which can be assigned to the product directly) are considered when calculating margin in percent.
