3516964 - ASE performance counters get disabled due to Event 1011 and 1017 - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Windows performance counter data collection from the "SYBSQL_<ASE name>" service are disabled and Event 1011 and 1017 are seen in Windows Event log after ASE restarts if "SQL Perfmon Integration" is 1.
  • Event ID 1011
    The Close procedure in Extensible Counter DLL "<ASE install directory>\ASE-16_0\dll\sybperf-<ASE name>.dll" for the "SYBSQL_<ASE name>" service generated exception The instruction at 0x%p referenced memory at 0x%p. The memory could not be %s. at address 0x7fff347d1381. The performance data returned by the counter DLL will not be returned in the Perf Data Block.
  • Event ID 1017
    Disabled performance counter data collection from the "SYBSQL_<ASE name>" service because the performance counter library for that service has generated one or more errors. The errors that forced this action have been written to the application event log. Correct the errors before enabling the performance counters for this service.
