3516974 - Error BW_INA_GR_NA_ERROR in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) BW Live Connections

Symptom

Creating a model in SAP Analytics Cloud using a BW Live connection results in error: "BW_INA_GR_NA_ERROR".

By editing the live connection on SAC Connections tab it shows no errors upon clicking on OK to save changes, the error is specific to the model creation.

  1. Additionally, the message "BW_INA_GR_NA_ERROR" might not be explicit on the SAC error pop-up, but it can be found on the network trace (HAR file - see KBA 2280022):

    a. Developer tools > Network tab
    b. Click on the failed GetResponse call.
    c. Click on "Preview" tab
    d. See the error messages from backend system


  2. Or it can also be found on the SST package (see KBA 3533376):

    a. Record an SST package
    b. Unzip it > File "records.json"
    c. Search for "BW_INA_GR_NA_ERROR"
