3516980 - SFTP Job scheduling error due to special characters in password - SAP SuccessFactors

Symptom

SFTP Job in provisioning shows error while saving or connection test: "Unable to connect to the server. Spaces and the following characters are not allowed in the field ftpPwd"

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create or Edit any SFTP job in Provisioning. Example- Employee Export
  2. Enter SFTP account username and password containing special characters
  3. Error will be shown- Unable to connect to the server. Spaces and the following characters are not allowed in the field ftpPwd

Cause

Since 2H 2022 release, validation was introduced in Provisioning SFTP jobs to not allow passwords containing any of these special characters- . , | / : 

Resolution

The validation error in SFTP Jobs is expected when the SFTP password being entered has any of the following special characters- . , | / :

To resolve this issue the SFTP account password will need to be reset. Any newly generated SFTP password will use any of these three, supported special characters only- @ # % 
Please raise a ticket to SAP Support for the SFTP password reset.

Note: Resetting the password of the SFTP account will cause any existing jobs, processes, integrations already using the old password to fail to connect to the SFTP. Hence those will need to be updated to the new password as well.
