Symptom

  • The cms.exe process is not running
  • Unable to connect to CMS DB after a Windows OS upgrade
  • From the CMS logs

    • 33007    SAP BusinessObjects BI platform CMS: Unable to connect to the CMS system database "<DSN Name>". Reason: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open database "<DSN Name>" requested by the login. The login failed.

      35101    The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: SAP BusinessObjects BI platform CMS: Unable to connect to the CMS system database "<DSN Name>". Reason: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open database "<DSN Name>" requested by the login.
