3518253 - Error:Select a valid material or service for the product type group

Symptom

While creating Purchase request from catalog item you may get this error.

or

Unable to change Product type group in Purchase request.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

 In the PR the 'Product type group' is not matching with that of Material Master's field 'Product type'.

Resolution

When PR is created from Catalog then 'Product type group' will be copied from Catalog.

In Catalog Under General information tab , maintain correct value  'No' or 'Yes' for the fields "Reference to Product master" and field " Reference to service".
